MSDE 2000 Installation Guidelines
MSDE 2000 (Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine) is a simplified version of SQL Server 2000 with the following limitations:
missing administration tools,
database size limited to 2 GB,
smaller efficiency in the case of handling by multiple users,
lack of some replication mechanisms.
MSDE version supplied by ASKOM (extended with a free administration tool DbaMgr2k Database Manager) is designated for sole application with ASKOM products. The use of this product for other purposes will constitute a violation of the license granted by Microsoft.
