System for Boilers
Cellulose and paper production belongs to one of the most energy-consuming industrial processes. Paper factories are usually built together with thermal power plants, which task is to generate electric energy and steam as well as to raise process efficiency by bark and black liquor combustion.

Paper
Kwidzyn plant produces about 500 thousands tons of paper annually. A part of power demand of technological departments is met by the plant's own source of energy - bark, soda and four coal boilers. Since 1999 ASKOM company has participated in modernization of OP140 boilers operating at 140 t/h steaming rate. Technological modernization, connected with burner replacement in order to reduce nitrogen oxide emission, was supported by complete automation modernization. Revamping of control system allowed to keep boiler efficiency at low-emission combustion and to cut down maintenance costs at increased availability.

Switching Station Control and Monitoring Systems
Switching station control and monitoring systems offered by ASKOM since 1998 use possibilities of programmable logic controllers (PLC) and special security controllers, monitored from the level of operator stations, equipped with asix SCADA system. Standard tasks of visualization, alarming and supervisory control are extended in those systems by special operator notepad, which allows making notices for connecting operations, repairs, replacements etc. and technical database providing on-line information on devices included in switching station.

Environment Protection Systems
ASKOM has developed and implemented in many plants a system for pollution emission visualization and reporting, based on a common concept for such applications. Key features of this concept are, among other things, compatibility with requirements for monitoring systems by current law regulations in force, use of
asix visualization system as a flexible platform for execution of system functions, emission data acquisition from specialized emission analyzers taking into consideration the evaluation of data credibility and availability of long-term history of key data. At the same time, contributing to reduction of pollution emission, ASKOM participates in undertakings of building and modernization of Combustion Gas Desulfurization plants, as well as implementation of low-emission and gas burners. |

Control Systems for Low-emission Coal Boilers
In 1994-2000 ASKOM company participated in modernization of over 20 power industry boilers, while biggest part of this undertaking has been combined with emission reduction of nitrogen oxide to the level required by norms. Requirements set by new technology of combustion concerning precise execution of process can be fulfilled only through implementation of latest solutions in automation engineering. |

Transport Control Systems
Coaling and ash removal plants of power stations and serial transport systems in other sectors of industry are a typical example of installations, where dominating technological elements are transport lines connecting nodes of media fed (carbon, ash, raw material) with receipt nodes (coal bunkers, ash containers etc.).
